A  talent was about 75 pounds or 34 kilograms
of silver, that he might help him gto confirm his hold on the royal power.
20Menahem exacted the money from Israel, that is, from all the wealthy men, fifty shekels
A  shekel was about 2/5 ounce or 11 grams
of silver from every man, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back and did not stay there in the land.

3 iAgainst him came up jShalmaneser king of Assyria. And Hoshea became his vassal and paid him tribute.

1 Chronicles 5:26

26So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of kPul king of Assyria, the spirit of lTiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and he took them into exile, namely, the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them mto Halah, nHabor, Hara, and othe river Gozan, to this day.
