2 Kings 15:29-30

29In the days of Pekah king of Israel, aTiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and captured bIjon, cAbel-beth-maacah, Janoah, dKedesh, eHazor, Gilead, and fGalilee, all the land of Naphtali, and he carried the people captive to Assyria. 30Then Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah and struck him down and put him to death and reigned in his place, gin the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

2 Kings 16:9

9 hAnd the king of Assyria listened to him. The king of Assyria marched up against Damascus iand took it, carrying its people captive to jKir, and he killed Rezin.

Isaiah 8:4

An Oracle Concerning Damascus

Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city
and will become a heap of ruins.
2The cities of qAroer are deserted;
they will be for flocks,
which will lie down, and rnone will make them afraid.
3The fortress will disappear from sEphraim,
and the kingdom from tDamascus;
and the remnant of Syria will be
like uthe glory of the children of Israel,

declares the Lord of hosts.
