2 Kings 16:10-16

10When King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet aTiglath-pileser king of Assyria, he saw the altar that was at Damascus. And King Ahaz sent to bUriah the priest a model of the altar, and its pattern, exact in all its details. 11And Uriah the priest built the altar; in accordance with all that King Ahaz had sent from Damascus, so Uriah the priest made it, before King Ahaz arrived from Damascus. 12And when the king came from Damascus, the king viewed the altar. cThen the king drew near to the altar and went up on it 13and burned his burnt offering and his grain offering and poured his drink offering and threw the blood of his peace offerings on the altar. 14And dthe bronze altar that was before the Lord he removed efrom the front of the house, from the place between fhis altar and the house of the Lord, and put it on the north side of ghis altar. 15And King Ahaz commanded Uriah the priest, saying, “On the great altar burn hthe morning burnt offering and the evening grain offering and the king’s burnt offering and his grain offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their grain offering and their drink offering. And throw on it all the blood of the burnt offering and all the blood of the sacrifice, but ithe bronze altar shall be for me to inquire by.” 16Uriah the priest did all this, as King Ahaz commanded.

Isaiah 24:5

5The earth lies jdefiled
under its inhabitants;
for kthey have transgressed the laws,
violated the statutes,
broken the everlasting covenant.

Isaiah 29:13

13 And the Lord said:
Because lthis people mdraw near with their mouth
and honor me with their lips,
while their hearts are far from me,
and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men,

Jeremiah 44:16-17

16“As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, nwe will not listen to you. 17 oBut we will do everything that we have vowed, make offerings to pthe queen of heaven qand pour out drink offerings to her, ras we did, both we and our fathers, our kings and our officials, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, and prospered, and saw no disaster.

Daniel 7:25

25 sHe shall speak words against the Most High,
and shall wear out the saints of the Most High,
and shall think to tchange the times and the law;
and they shall be given into his hand
for ua time, times, and half a time.

Daniel 11:36

36“And the king shall vdo as he wills. wHe shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, xand shall speak astonishing things against ythe God of gods. zHe shall prosper aatill the indignation is accomplished; for what is decreed shall be done.
