2 Kings 16:7-8

7 aSo Ahaz sent messengers to bTiglath-pileser king of Assyria, saying, “I am your servant and your son. Come up and rescue me from the hand of the king of Syria and from the hand of the king of Israel, who are attacking me.” 8Ahaz also ctook the silver and gold that was found in the house of the Lord and in the treasures of the king’s house and sent a present to the king of Assyria.

2 Chronicles 28:20-21

21 fFor Ahaz took a portion from the house of the Lord and the house of the king and of the princes, and gave tribute to the king of Assyria, but it did not help him.

Jeremiah 27:6-7

6 jNow I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, kmy servant, land I have given him also the beasts of the field to serve him. 7 mAll the nations shall serve him and nhis son and ohis grandson, puntil the time of his own land comes. qThen many nations and great kings shall make him their slave.

Ezekiel 5:1-4

Jerusalem Will Be Destroyed

1“And you, rO son of man, take a ssharp sword. Use it as ta barber’s razor and upass it over your head and your beard. Then take balances for weighing and divide the hair. 2 vA third part you shall burn in the fire win the midst of the city, xwhen the days of the siege are completed. And a third part you shall take and strike with the sword all around the city. yAnd a third part you shall scatter to the wind, and zI will unsheathe the sword after them. 3 aaAnd you shall take from these a small number and bind them in the skirts of your robe. 4 abAnd of these again you shall take some and cast them into the midst of the fire and burn them in the fire. From there a fire will come out into all the house of Israel.

Ezekiel 29:18

18 acSon of man, adNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made his army labor hard against Tyre. Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was rubbed bare, yet neither he nor his army got anything from Tyre to pay for the labor that he had performed against her.

Ezekiel 29:20

20 aeI have given him the land of Egypt as his payment for which he labored, because they worked for me, declares the Lord God.
