2 Kings 17:13-14

13Yet the Lord awarned Israel and Judah bby every prophet cand every seer, saying, dTurn from your evil ways and keep my commandments and my statutes, in accordance with all the Law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent to you by my servants the prophets.”

14But they would not listen, ebut were stubborn, as their fathers had been, who did not believe in the Lord their God.

2 Chronicles 30:6-12

6 fSo couriers went throughout all Israel and Judah with letters from the king and his princes, as the king had commanded, saying, “O people of Israel, greturn to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that he may turn again to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of hthe kings of Assyria. 7 iDo not be like your fathers and your brothers, who were faithless to the Lord God of their fathers, so that he made them a desolation, as you see. 8 jDo not now be stiff-necked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the Lord and come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever, and serve the Lord your God, kthat his fierce anger may turn away from you. 9For lif you return to the Lord, your brothers and your children mwill find compassion with their captors and return to this land. For nthe Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, oif you return to him.”

10 pSo the couriers went from city to city through the country of qEphraim and Manasseh, and as far as Zebulun, but rthey laughed them to scorn and mocked them. 11However, ssome men of Asher, of Manasseh, and of Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem. 12The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the princes commanded tby the word of the Lord.

for vhe has torn us, that he may heal us;

2After two days xhe will revive us;

that we may live before him.
3 yLet us know; zlet us press on to know the Lord;
aahis going out is sure as the dawn;
he will come to us abas the showers,
acas the spring rains that water the earth.”
4 What shall I do with you, adO aeEphraim?
What shall I do with you, O afJudah?
Your love is aglike a morning cloud,
ahlike the dew that goes early away.
