2 Kings 19:13-18

13 aWhere is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the city of Sepharvaim, the king of Hena, or the king of Ivvah?’”

Hezekiah’s Prayer

14Hezekiah received bthe letter from the hand of the messengers and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord and spread it before the Lord. 15And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and said: “O Lord, the God of Israel, centhroned above the cherubim, dyou are the God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth. 16 eIncline your ear, O Lord, and hear; fopen your eyes, O Lord, and see; and hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent gto mock the living God. 17Truly, O Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands 18and have cast their gods into the fire, for they were not gods, hbut the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. Therefore they were destroyed.

2 Kings 22:12-14

12And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and iAhikam the son of Shaphan, and jAchbor the son of kMicaiah, and Shaphan the secretary, and Asaiah the king’s servant, saying, 13Go, inquire of the Lord for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that has been found. For great is lthe wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us.”

14So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of mTikvah, son of nHarhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in othe Second Quarter), and they talked with her.

2 Chronicles 32:13-15

13Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to deliver their lands out of my hand? 14Who among all the gods of those nations that my fathers devoted to destruction was able to deliver his people from my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you from my hand? 15Now, therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you in this fashion, and do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or from the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you out of my hand!’”

Nehemiah 6:10-12

10Now when I went into the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabel, who was pconfined to his home, he said, “Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple. Let us close the doors of the temple, for they are coming to kill you. They are coming to kill you by night.” 11But I said, “Should such a man as I run away? And what man such as I could go into the temple and live?
Or would go into the temple to save his life
I will not go in.”
12And I understood and saw that God had not sent him, rbut he had pronounced the prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.

Jeremiah 26:11-15

11Then sthe priests and the prophets said to the officials and to all the people, tThis man deserves the sentence of death, because he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your own ears.”

12Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and all the people, saying, “The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the words you have heard. 13Now therefore umend your ways and your deeds, vand obey the voice of the Lord your God, wand the Lord will relent of the disaster that he has pronounced against you. 14 xBut as for me, behold, I am in your hands. Do with me as seems good and right to you. 15Only know for certain that if you put me to death, yyou will bring innocent blood upon yourselves and upon this city and its inhabitants, for in truth the Lord sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.”
