2 Kings 19:17-18

17Truly, O Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands 18and have cast their gods into the fire, for they were not gods, abut the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. Therefore they were destroyed.

Psalms 115:4-8

4 bTheir idols are silver and gold,
cthe work of human hands.
5They have mouths, dbut do not speak;
eyes, but do not see.
6They have ears, but do not hear;
noses, but do not smell.
7They have hands, but do not feel;
feet, but do not walk;
and they do not make a sound in their throat.
8 eThose who make them become like them;
so do all who trust in them.

Psalms 135:15

15 fThe idols of the nations are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.

Isaiah 2:20

20 In that day gmankind will cast away
their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
which they made for themselves to worship,
to the moles and to the hbats,

Isaiah 30:22

22Then you will defile your carved idols overlaid with silver and your gold-plated metal images. iYou will scatter them as unclean things. You will say to them, “Be gone!”

Isaiah 40:19-31

19 jAn idol! A craftsman casts it,
and a goldsmith overlays it with gold
and casts for it silver chains.
20 kHe who is too impoverished for an offering
chooses wood
Or  He chooses valuable wood
that will not rot;
he seeks out a skillful craftsman
to set up an idol that will not move.
21 mDo you not know? Do you not hear?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22It is he who sits above the circle of the earth,
and its inhabitants are nlike grasshoppers;
owho stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;
23 pwho brings princes to nothing,
and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness.
24 Scarcely are they planted, scarcely sown,
scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth,
when he blows on them, and they wither,
qand the tempest carries them off like stubble.
25 rTo whom then will you compare me,
that I should be like him? says the Holy One.
26Lift up your eyes on high and see:
who created these?
sHe who brings out their host by number,
calling them all by name;
by the greatness of his might
and because he is strong in power,
not one is missing.
27 Why do you say, O Jacob,
and speak, O Israel,
t“My way is hidden from the Lord,
uand my right is disregarded by my God”?
28Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is vthe everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
whis understanding is unsearchable.
29He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.
30Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
31but xthey who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings ylike eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 46:6

6 zThose who lavish gold from the purse,
and weigh out silver in the scales,
hire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god;
aathen they fall down and worship!
