Isaiah Prophesies Sennacherib’s Fall

20Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Your prayer to me about Sennacherib king of Assyria aI have heard.

2 Kings 19:35-37

35And that night bthe angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. And when people arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies. 36Then Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and went home and lived at cNineveh. 37And as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, dAdrammelech and Sharezer, his sons, struck him down with the sword and escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.

Isaiah 10:16-18

16Therefore the Lord God of hosts
will send wasting sickness among his estout warriors,
and under his glory fa burning will be kindled,
like the burning of fire.
17 gThe light of Israel will become a fire,
and hhis Holy One a flame,
and iit will burn and devour
his thorns and briers jin one day.
18The glory of khis forest and of his lfruitful land
the Lord will destroy, both soul and body,
and it will be as when a sick man wastes away.
