2 Kings 22:15-20

15And she said to them, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘Tell the man who sent you to me, 16Thus says the Lord, Behold, I will bring disaster upon this place and upon its inhabitants, all the words of the book that the king of Judah has read. 17 aBecause they have forsaken me and have made offerings to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore bmy wrath will be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched. 18But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the Lord, thus shall you say to him, Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Regarding the words that you have heard, 19 cbecause your heart was penitent, and you dhumbled yourself before the Lord, when you heard how I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become ea desolation and fa curse, and you ghave torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord. 20Therefore, behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and hyou shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the disaster that I will bring upon this place.’” And they brought back word to the king.

Jeremiah 21:3-7

3Then Jeremiah said to them: “Thus you shall say to Zedekiah, 4Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: iBehold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands and with which you are fighting against the king of Babylon and against the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the walls. jAnd I will bring them together into the midst of this city. 5I myself will fight against you kwith outstretched hand and strong arm, lin anger and in fury and in great wrath. 6And I will strike down the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast. They shall die of a great pestilence. 7Afterward, declares the Lord, mI will give Zedekiah king of Judah and his servants and the people in this city who survive the pestilence, sword, and famine into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of their enemies, into the hand of those who seek their lives. He shall strike them down with the edge of the sword. nHe shall not pity them or spare them or have compassion.’

Jeremiah 37:7-10

7Thus says the Lord, God of Israel: Thus shall you say to the king of Judah who osent you to me to inquire of me, ‘Behold, pPharaoh’s army that came to help you is about to qreturn to Egypt, to its own land. 8And rthe Chaldeans shall come back and fight against this city. sThey shall capture it and burn it with fire. 9Thus says the Lord, Do not deceive yourselves, saying, “The Chaldeans will surely go away from us,” for they will not go away. 10 tFor even if you should defeat the whole army of Chaldeans who are fighting against you, and there remained of them only wounded men, every man in his tent, they would rise up and uburn this city with fire.’”
