2 Kings 25:1-4

Fall and Captivity of Judah

1 aAnd in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, bNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came with all his army against Jerusalem and laid siege to it. cAnd they built siegeworks all around it. 2So the city was besieged till the eleventh year of King Zedekiah. 3On the ninth day of the fourth month dthe famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land. 4Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, by ethe king’s garden, and fthe Chaldeans were around the city. And they went in the direction of the gArabah.

Isaiah 1:8

8And hthe daughter of Zion is left
like a ibooth in a vineyard,
like a lodge in a cucumber field,
like a besieged city.

Jeremiah 6:2-3

2The lovely and delicately bred I will destroy,
jthe daughter of Zion.
Or I have likened the daughter of Zion to the loveliest pasture

3 lShepherds with their flocks shall come against her;
mthey shall pitch their tents around her;
they shall pasture, each in his place.

Luke 19:43-44

43For nthe days will come upon you, when your enemies owill set up a barricade around you and psurround you and hem you in on every side 44 qand tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And rthey will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know sthe time of your tvisitation.”

Luke 21:20-24

Jesus Foretells Destruction of Jerusalem

20But uwhen you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that vits desolation has come near. 21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it, 22for these are wdays of xvengeance, to fulfill yall that is written. 23 zAlas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and aawrath against this people. 24They will fall by the edge of the sword and abbe led captive among all nations, and acJerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, aduntil the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
