2 Kings 25:4-7

4Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, by athe king’s garden, and bthe Chaldeans were around the city. And they went in the direction of the cArabah. 5But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and overtook him in the plains of Jericho, and all his army was scattered from him. 6Then they captured the king dand brought him up to the king of Babylon at eRiblah, and they passed sentence on him. 7They slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, fand put out the eyes of Zedekiah and bound him in chains and took him to Babylon.

2 Chronicles 34:25

25Because they have forsaken me and ghave made offerings to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands, therefore hmy wrath will be poured out on this place and will not be quenched.

2 Chronicles 36:16-19

16 iBut they kept mocking the messengers of God, jdespising his words and scoffing at his prophets, kuntil the wrath of the Lord rose against his people, until there was no remedy.

Jerusalem Captured and Burned

17 lTherefore he brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or aged. He gave them all into his hand. 18 mAnd all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king and of his princes, all these he brought to Babylon. 19 nAnd they burned the house of God and broke down the wall of Jerusalem and burned all its palaces with fire and destroyed all its precious vessels.

Jeremiah 6:11

11Therefore I am full of the wrath of the Lord;
oI am weary of holding it in.
p“Pour it out upon the children in the street,
and upon the gatherings of young men, also;
qboth husband and wife rshall be taken,
the elderly and the very aged.

The Fall of Jerusalem

1 uIn the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army came against Jerusalem and besieged it. 2In the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, a breach was made in the city. 3Then all vthe officials of the king of Babylon came wand sat in the middle gate: Nergal-sar-ezer of Samgar, Nebu-sar-sekim xthe Rab-saris, Nergal-sar-ezer the Rab-mag, with all the rest of the officers of the king of Babylon. 4When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled, going out of the city at night by way of the king’s garden through the gate between the two walls; and they went toward ythe Arabah. 5But the army of the Chaldeans pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in zthe plains of Jericho. And when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, at aaRiblah, in the land of Hamath; aband he passed sentence on him. 6The king of Babylon acslaughtered the sons of Zedekiah at adRiblah before his eyes, and the king of Babylon aeslaughtered all the nobles of Judah. 7 afHe put out the eyes of Zedekiah and bound him in chains to take him to Babylon. 8 agThe Chaldeans burned the king’s house and the house of the people, ahand broke down the walls of Jerusalem. 9Then aiNebuzaradan, the ajcaptain of the guard, carried into exile to Babylon the rest of the people who were left in the city, akthose who had deserted to him, and the people who remained.

Jeremiah 52:4-11

4 alAnd in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came with all his army against Jerusalem, and laid siege to it. And they built siegeworks all around it. 5So the city was besieged till the eleventh year of King Zedekiah. 6On the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land. 7Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled and went out from the city by night by the way of a gate between the two walls, by the king’s garden, and the Chaldeans were around the city. And they went in the direction of the Arabah. 8But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, and all his army was scattered from him. 9Then they captured the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he passed sentence on him. 10The king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and also slaughtered all the officials of Judah at amRiblah. 11 anHe put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him in chains, and the king of Babylon took him to Babylon, and put him in prison aotill the day of his death.
