2 Kings 5:16

16But he said, a“As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, bI will receive none.” And he urged him to take it, but he refused.

2 Kings 5:20

20 cGehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “See, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not accepting from his hand what he brought. dAs the Lord lives, I will run after him and get something from him.”

2 Corinthians 11:8-12

8I robbed other churches by accepting support from them in order to serve you. 9And when I was with you and was ein need, fI did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia gsupplied my need. So I refrained and will refrain hfrom burdening you in any way. 10 iAs the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine jwill not be silenced in the regions of Achaia. 11And why? kBecause I do not love you? lGod knows I do!

12And what I am doing I will continue to do, min order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do.

2 Corinthians 12:11-15

Concern for the Corinthian Church

11 nI have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. For I was onot at all inferior to these super-apostles, peven though I am nothing. 12 qThe signs of a true apostle were performed among you rwith utmost patience, with signs and wonders and mighty works. 13For in what were you less favored than the rest of the churches, except that sI myself did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong!

14Here tfor the third time I am ready to come to you. And I will not be a burden, for uI seek not what is yours but you. For vchildren are not obligated to save up for their parents, but wparents for their children. 15 xI will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If yI love you more, am I to be loved less?
