2 Kings 6:31-32

31and he said, a“May God do so to me and more also, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat remains on his shoulders today.”

32Elisha was sitting in his house, band the elders were sitting with him. Now the king had dispatched a man from his presence, but before the messenger arrived Elisha said to the elders, “Do you see how this cmurderer has sent to take off my head? Look, when the messenger comes, shut the door and hold the door fast against him. Is not the sound of his master’s feet behind him?”

Jeremiah 2:30

they took no correction;
eyour own sword devoured your prophets
like a ravening lion.

Jeremiah 5:3

3O Lord, do not your eyes look for truth?
fYou have struck them down,
but they felt no anguish;
you have consumed them,
but they refused to take correction.
gThey have made their faces harder than rock;
they have refused to repent.
