2 Peter 1:5-11

5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith ^awith virtue, ^{▼▼Or excellence; twice in this verse} and virtue ^cwith knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control ^dwith steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness ^ewith brotherly affection, and brotherly affection ^fwith love. 8 For if these qualities ^{▼▼Greek these things; also verses 9, 10, 12} are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or ^hunfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he ⁱis blind, having forgotten that he was ^jcleansed from his former sins. 10 Therefore, brothers, ^{▼▼Or brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church} be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and ^lelection, for if you practice these qualities ^myou will never fall. 11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you ⁿan entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 3:2
