2 Peter 2:1-3

False Prophets and Teachers

1But afalse prophets also arose among the people, bjust as there will be false teachers among you, who will csecretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master dwho bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth ewill be blasphemed. 3And fin their greed they will exploit you gwith false words. hTheir condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

2 Peter 2:13-22

13suffering wrong as ithe wage for their wrongdoing. They count it pleasure jto revel in the daytime. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions,
Some manuscripts love feasts
while lthey feast with you.
14They have eyes full of adultery, minsatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts ntrained in greed. oAccursed children! 15Forsaking the right way, pthey have gone astray. They have followed qthe way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved rgain from wrongdoing, 16but was rebuked for his own transgression; sa speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.

17 tThese are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. uFor them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved. 18For, vspeaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely wescaping from those who live in error. 19They promise them xfreedom, ybut they themselves are slaves

of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.
20For if, aaafter they have escaped the defilements of the world abthrough the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, acthe last state has become worse for them than the first. 21For adit would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from aethe holy commandment delivered to them. 22What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The afdog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”

1 John 2:18-19

Warning Concerning Antichrists

18Children, agit is the last hour, and as you have heard that ahantichrist is coming, so now aimany antichrists have come. ajTherefore we know that it is the last hour. 19 akThey went out from us, but they were not of us; for alif they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, amthat it might become plain that they all are not of us.

1 John 4:1-6

Test the Spirits

1Beloved, ando not believe every spirit, but aotest the spirits to see whether they are from God, for apmany aqfalse prophets arhave gone out into the world. 2By this you know the Spirit of God: asevery spirit that confesses that atJesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3and every spirit authat does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and avnow is in the world already. 4Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for awhe who is in you is greater than axhe who is in the world. 5 ayThey are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and azthe world listens to them. 6We are from God. baWhoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know bbthe Spirit of truth and bcthe spirit of error.

Jude 4-5

4For bdcertain people behave crept in unnoticed bfwho long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert bgthe grace of our God into sensuality and bhdeny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

5Now I want bito remind you, although you once fully knew it, that bjJesus, who saved
Some manuscripts  although you fully knew it, that the Lord who once saved
a people out of the land of Egypt, blafterward destroyed those who did not believe.

Revelation of John 3:1

To the Church in Sardis

1And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him bmwho has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars.

“‘I know your works. You have the reputation bnof being alive, bobut you are dead.

Revelation of John 3:15-17

15“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. bpWould that you were either cold or hot! 16So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. 17 bqFor you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, brblind, and naked.
