2 Samuel 12:24-25

Solomon’s Birth

24 Then David comforted his wife, Bathsheba, and went in to her and lay with her, and ^ashe bore a son, and he called his name ^bSolomon. And the Lord loved him 25 and sent a message by Nathan the prophet. So he called his name Jedidiah, ^{▼▼ Jedidiah means beloved of the Lord} because of the Lord.

1 Chronicles 28:5-6

5 And of ^dall my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) he ^ehas chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel. 6 He said to me, ‘It is ^fSolomon your son who shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
