31And it was told David, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” And David said, “O Lord, please aturn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.”

2 Samuel 17:14

14And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, “The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel.” bFor the Lord had ordained
Hebrew commanded
to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, so that the Lord might bring harm upon Absalom.

2 Samuel 17:23

23When Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey and went off home to dhis own city. He eset his house in order and fhanged himself, and he died and was buried in the tomb of his father.

Isaiah 19:12-14

12Where then are your gwise men?
Let them tell you
that they might know what the Lord of hosts has purposed against Egypt.
13The princes of hZoan have become fools,
and the princes of iMemphis are deluded;
those who are the jcornerstones of her tribes
have made Egypt stagger.
14The Lord has mingled within her ka spirit of confusion,
and they will make Egypt stagger in all its deeds,
las a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

Isaiah 29:14

14therefore, behold, mI will again
do wonderful things with this people,
with wonder upon wonder;
and nthe wisdom of their wise men shall perish,
and the discernment of their discerning men shall be hidden.”

1 Corinthians 1:19-20

19For it is written,

o“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”
20 pWhere is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? qHas not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
