David Anointed King of Israel

1 Then all the tribes of Israel ^ccame to David at Hebron and said, “Behold, ^dwe are your bone and flesh. 2 In times past, when Saul was king over us, ^eit was you who led out and brought in Israel. And the Lord said to you, ^f‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince ^{▼▼Or leader} over Israel.’” 3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, ^hand King David made a covenant with them at Hebron ⁱbefore the Lord, and they anointed David king over Israel.

1 Chronicles 11:1-3

David Anointed King

1 ^jThen all Israel gathered together to David at Hebron and said, “Behold, we are your bone and flesh. 2 In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. And the Lord your God said to you, ^k‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over my people Israel.’” 3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord. And they anointed David king over Israel, ^laccording to the word of the Lord by Samuel.

1 Chronicles 12:38

38 All these, men of war, arrayed in battle order, came to Hebron with ^ma whole heart to make David king over all Israel. Likewise, all the rest of Israel were of a ⁿsingle mind to make David king.
