David Avenges the Gibeonites

1Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year. And David asought the face of the Lord. And the Lord said, “There is bloodguilt on Saul and on his house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”

21Do not spurn us, vfor your name’s sake;
do not dishonor your glorious throne;
wremember and do not break your covenant with us.
22Are there any among xthe false gods of the nations ythat can bring rain?
Or can the heavens give showers?
Are you not he, O Lord our God?
We set our hope on you,
zfor you do all these things.
