2 Samuel 22:2-3

2 aHe said,

b“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,

God, my rock, ein whom I take refuge,
fmy shield, and gthe horn of my salvation,
hmy stronghold and imy refuge,
my savior; you save me from violence.

2 Samuel 22:40-48

40For you equipped me with strength for the battle;
you made jthose who rise against me sink under me.
41You kmade my enemies turn their backs to me,
Or  You gave me my enemies’ necks

those who hated me, and I destroyed them.
42They looked, but there was none to save;
they cried to the Lord, but mhe did not answer them.
43I beat them fine nas the dust of the earth;
I crushed them and stamped them down olike the mire of the streets.
44 “You delivered me from strife with my people;
Septuagint  with the peoples

you kept me as the head of qthe nations;
rpeople whom I had not known served me.
45Foreigners came cringing to me;
as soon as they heard of me, they obeyed me.
46Foreigners lost heart
and came trembling

tout of their fortresses.
47 “The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock,
and exalted be umy God, vthe rock of my salvation,
48the God who gave me vengeance
and wbrought down peoples under me,

Jeremiah 16:19

19 xO Lord, my strength and my stronghold,
ymy refuge in the day of trouble,
zto you shall the nations come
from the ends of the earth and say:
“Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies,
aaworthless things in which there is no profit.
