2 Samuel 23:2

2 ^a“The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me;
his word is on my tongue.

1 Chronicles 22:8-10

8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ^b‘You have shed much blood and have waged great wars. You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed so much blood before me on the earth. 9 Behold, a son shall be born to you who shall be a man of rest. ^cI will give him rest from all his surrounding enemies. ^dFor his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days. 10 ^eHe shall build a house for my name. ^fHe shall be my son, and I will be his father, and I will establish his royal throne in Israel forever.’

1 Chronicles 28:5-6

5 And of ^gall my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) he ^hhas chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel. 6 He said to me, ‘It is ⁱSolomon your son who shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

1 Chronicles 28:10

10 Be careful now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; ^jbe strong and do it.”

1 And David the king said to all the assembly, “Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is ^kyoung and inexperienced, and the work is great, for ^lthe palace will not be for man but for the Lord God.
