1There was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David. And David grew stronger and stronger, while the house of Saul became weaker and weaker.

1Then all the tribes of Israel acame to David at Hebron and said, “Behold, bwe are your bone and flesh.

2 Samuel 5:19

19And David cinquired of the Lord, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?” And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand.”

12And Jehoshaphat grew steadily greater. He built in Judah fortresses and store cities, 13and he had large supplies in the cities of Judah. He had soldiers, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem. 14This was the muster of them by fathershouses: Of Judah, the commanders of thousands: Adnah the commander, with 300,000 mighty men of valor; 15and next to him Jehohanan the commander, with 280,000; 16and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, fa volunteer for the service of the Lord, with 200,000 mighty men of valor. 17Of Benjamin: Eliada, a mighty man of valor, with 200,000 men garmed with bow and shield; 18and next to him Jehozabad with 180,000 armed for war. 19These were in the service of the king, besides hthose whom the king had placed in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.

Isaiah 9:17

17Therefore the Lord does not irejoice over their young men,
