2 Samuel 7:12-14

12 ^aWhen your days are fulfilled and ^byou lie down with your fathers, ^cI will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 ^dHe shall build a house for my name, and ^eI will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 ^fI will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. Solomon’s Birth

24 Then David comforted his wife, Bathsheba, and went in to her and lay with her, and ^hshe bore a son, and he called his name ⁱSolomon. And the Lord loved him 25 and sent a message by Nathan the prophet. So he called his name Jedidiah, ^{▼▼ Jedidiah means beloved of the Lord} because of the Lord.

1 Kings 1:13

13 Go in at once to King David, and say to him, ‘Did you not, my lord the king, swear to your servant, saying, ^k“Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne”? Why then is Adonijah king?’

1 Chronicles 17:12
