2 Timothy 2:3-10

3 aShare in suffering as ba good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4No soldier cgets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. 5 dAn athlete is not ecrowned unless he competes according to the rules. 6It is fthe hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. 7Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.

8Remember Jesus Christ, grisen from the dead, the hoffspring of David, ias preached in my gospel, 9 jfor which I am suffering, kbound with chains as a criminal. But lthe word of God is not bound! 10Therefore mI endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain nthe salvation that is in Christ Jesus with oeternal glory.
