The Coming of the Lord

13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, ^dthat you may not grieve as others do ^ewho have no hope. 14 For ^fsince we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him ^gthose who have fallen asleep. 15 For this we declare to you ^hby a word from the Lord, ^{▼▼Or by the word of the Lord} that ^jwe who are alive, who are left until ^kthe coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For ^lthe Lord himself will descend ^mfrom heaven ⁿwith a cry of command, with the voice of ^oan archangel, and ^pwith the sound of the trumpet of God. And ^qthe dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be ^rcaught up together with them ^sin the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so ^twe will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

2 Peter 3:8-9

8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and ^ua thousand years as one day. 9 ^vThe Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise ^was some count slowness, but ^xis patient toward you, ^{▼▼Some manuscripts on your account} ^znot wishing that any should perish, but ^aathat all should reach repentance.
