The Coming of the Lord

13But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, dthat you may not grieve as others do ewho have no hope. 14For fsince we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him gthose who have fallen asleep. 15For this we declare to you hby a word from the Lord,
Or  by the word of the Lord
that jwe who are alive, who are left until kthe coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16For lthe Lord himself will descend mfrom heaven nwith a cry of command, with the voice of oan archangel, and pwith the sound of the trumpet of God. And qthe dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive, who are left, will be rcaught up together with them sin the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so twe will always be with the Lord. 18Therefore encourage one another with these words.

2 Peter 3:8-9

8But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and ua thousand years as one day. 9 vThe Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise was some count slowness, but xis patient toward you,
Some manuscripts on your account
znot wishing that any should perish, but aathat all should reach repentance.
