Acts 12:5-7

5So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest aprayer for him was made to God by the church.

Peter Is Rescued

6Now when Herod was about to bring him out, on that very night, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bbound with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison. 7And behold, can angel of the Lord dstood next to him, and a light shone in the cell. eHe struck Peter on the side and woke him, saying, “Get up quickly.” And fthe chains fell off his hands.

Acts 16:23-27

23And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw them into prison, ordering the jailer to keep them safely. 24Having received this order, he put them into the inner gprison and fastened their feet in hthe stocks.

The Philippian Jailer Converted

25 iAbout midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, 26and suddenly jthere was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately kall the doors were opened, and leveryone’s bonds were unfastened. 27When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and mwas about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.
