Barnabas and Saul Sent Off

1Now there were in the church at Antioch aprophets and bteachers, cBarnabas, Simeon who was called Niger,
 Niger is a Latin word meaning black, or dark
Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a lifelong friend of eHerod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, fthe Holy Spirit said, g“Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul hfor the work to which I have called them.”

Acts 13:50

Greek Ioudaioi probably refers here to Jewish religious leaders, and others under their influence, in that time
incited the devout kwomen of high standing and the leading men of the city, lstirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and mdrove them out of their district.

Acts 14:12

12Barnabas they called nZeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.

Acts 15:12

12And all the assembly fell silent, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul oas they related what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.
