2For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but pnot before God. 3For what does the Scripture say? qAbraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.” 4Now rto the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. 5And to the one who does not work but sbelieves in

him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,
6just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:

7 uBlessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
and whose sins are covered;
8blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not vcount his sin.”

1 Timothy 1:15

15The saying is wtrustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus xcame into the world to save sinners, yof whom I am the foremost.

Hebrews 9:15-22

15Therefore he is zthe mediator of a new covenant, so that aathose who are called may abreceive the promised eternal inheritance, acsince a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
The Greek word means both  covenant and will; also verses 16, 17
16For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. 17For aea will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive. 18Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated afwithout blood. 19For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took agthe blood of calves and goats, ahwith water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20saying, aiThis is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.” 21And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both ajthe tent and all the vessels used in worship. 22Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and akwithout the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

Hebrews 9:25-26

25Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as althe high priest enters amthe holy places every year with blood not his own, 26for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, anhe has appeared aoonce for all apat the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Hebrews 10:4

4For aqit is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
