Acts 13:39

39and by him aeveryone who believes is freed
Greek justified; twice in this verse
from everything cfrom which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

Romans 3:20

20For dby works of the law no human being
Greek flesh
will be justified in his sight, since fthrough the law comes knowledge of sin.

Romans 7:5-11

5For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work gin our members hto bear fruit for death. 6But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the inew way of jthe Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.
Greek  of the letter

The Law and Sin

7What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, lI would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if mthe law had not said, “You shall not covet.” 8But sin, nseizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. oFor apart from the law, sin lies dead. 9I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died. 10The very commandment pthat promised life proved to be death to me. 11For sin, qseizing an opportunity through the commandment, rdeceived me and through it killed me.

Galatians 3:21

21Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For sif a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.

Hebrews 7:18-19

18For on the one hand, a former commandment is set aside tbecause of its weakness and uselessness 19(for uthe law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, va better hope is introduced, through which wwe draw near to God.

Hebrews 10:1-10

Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All

1For since the law has but xa shadow yof the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, zit can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. 2Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? 3But aain these sacrifices abthere is a reminder of sins every year. 4For acit is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

5Consequently, adwhen Christ
Greek he
came into the world, he said,

afSacrifices and offerings you have not desired,
but a body have you prepared for me;
6in burnt offerings and sin offerings
you have taken no pleasure.
7Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,
as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”
8When he said above, “You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in agsacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), 9then he added, ahBehold, I have come to do your will.” He does away with the first in order to establish the second. 10And by that will aiwe have been sanctified through the offering of ajthe body of Jesus Christ akonce for all.

Hebrews 10:14

14For by a single offering alhe has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
