Greek Ioudaioi probably refers here to Jewish religious leaders, and others under their influence, in that time
incited the devout dwomen of high standing and the leading men of the city, estirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and fdrove them out of their district.

Acts 18:6-8

6And when they opposed and reviled him, phe shook out his garments and said to them, qYour blood be on your own heads! rI am innocent. sFrom now on I will go to the Gentiles.” 7And he left there and went to the house of a man named Titius tJustus, ua worshiper of God. His house was next door to the synagogue. 8 vCrispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together wwith his entire household. And many of the Corinthians hearing Paul believed and were baptized.

Acts 19:8-9

8And xhe entered the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, reasoning and persuading them yabout the kingdom of God. 9 zBut when some became stubborn and aacontinued in unbelief, speaking evil of abthe Way before the congregation, he withdrew from them and took the disciples with him, reasoning daily in the hall of Tyrannus.
