Acts 13:6-8

6When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they came upon a certain amagician, ba Jewish false prophet named Bar-Jesus. 7He was with cthe proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence, who summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. 8But Elymas the dmagician (for that is the meaning of his name) eopposed them, seeking to turn fthe proconsul away from the faith.

16As we were going to gthe place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had ha spirit of idivination and jbrought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. 17She followed Paul and us, kcrying out, “These men are lservants

18And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, p“I command you qin the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And rit came out that very hour.

19And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20So the word of the Lord scontinued to increase and prevail mightily.
