37Now Barnabas wanted to take with them aJohn called Mark. 38But Paul thought best not to take with them one bwho had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia and had not gone with them to the work. 39And there arose ca sharp disagreement, so that they separated from each other. dBarnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus,

Acts 23:1-5

1And looking intently at the council, Paul said, “Brothers, eI have lived my life before God in all good conscience up to this day.” 2And the high priest fAnanias commanded those who stood by him gto strike him on the mouth. 3Then Paul said to him, “God is going to strike you, you hwhitewashed iwall! Are you sitting to judge me according to the law, and yet jcontrary to the law you korder me to be struck?” 4Those who stood by said, “Would you revile lGod’s high priest?” 5And Paul said, m“I did not know, brothers, that he was the high priest, for it is written, n‘You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’”

James 3:2
