Acts 17:18-20

18Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also conversed with him. And some said, aWhat does this babbler wish to say?” Others said, “He seems to be a preacher of foreign divinities”—because bhe was preaching cJesus and the resurrection. 19And they took him and brought him to dthe Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this enew teaching is that you are presenting? 20For you bring some fstrange things to our ears. We wish to know therefore what these things mean.”

Acts 17:32

32Now when they heard of gthe resurrection of the dead, hsome mocked. But others said, i“We will hear you again about this.”

Acts 18:14-17

14But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, “If it were a matter of wrongdoing or vicious jcrime, O Jews, I would have reason to accept your complaint. 15But ksince it is a matter of questions about words and names and lyour own law, see to it yourselves. I refuse to be a judge of these things.” 16And he drove them from the tribunal. 17And they all seized Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him in front of the tribunal. But Gallio paid no attention to any of this.

Acts 25:19-20

19Rather they mhad certain points of dispute with him about their own religion and about na certain Jesus, who was dead, but whom Paul asserted to be alive. 20Being at a loss how to investigate these questions, I oasked whether he wanted to go to Jerusalem and be tried there regarding them.
