29Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about athe patriarch David bthat he both died and cwas buried, and dhis tomb is with us to this day. 30 eBeing therefore a prophet, and knowing that fGod had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne,

Acts 13:32-36

32And we bring you the good news gthat what God promised to the fathers, 33 hthis he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm,

today I have begotten you.’
34And as for the fact that he raised him from the dead, j, kno more to return to corruption, he has spoken in this way,

“‘I will give you lthe holy and sure blessings of David.’
35Therefore he says also in another psalm,

m“‘You will not let your Holy One see corruption.’
36For David, after he had nserved the purpose of God in his own generation, ofell asleep and pwas laid with his fathers and saw corruption,
