“Sit at my right hand,
35 until I make your enemies your footstool.”’
36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that ^hGod has made him ⁱboth Lord and Christ, this Jesus ^jwhom you crucified.”

37 Now when ^kthey heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, ^lwhat shall we do?” 38 And Peter said to them, ^m“Repent and ⁿbe baptized every one of you ^oin the name of Jesus Christ ^pfor the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive ^qthe gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For ^rthe promise is for you and ^sfor your children and for all ^twho are far off, everyone ^uwhom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, ^v“Save yourselves from this ^wcrooked generation.” 41 So those who received his word were baptized, and ^xthere were added that day about three thousand souls.

The Fellowship of the Believers

42 And ^ythey devoted themselves to the apostles’ ^zteaching and the ^aafellowship, to ^abthe breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe ^{▼▼Or fear} came upon every soul, and ^admany wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and ^aehad all things in common. 45 And ^afthey were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, ^agattending the temple ^ahtogether and ^aibreaking bread in their homes, they received their food ^ajwith glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and ^akhaving favor with all the people. And the Lord ^aladded to their number ^amday by day those who ^anwere being saved.

2 Thessalonians 1:6-10

6 since indeed God considers it ^aojust ^apto repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to grant ^aqrelief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when ^arthe Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven ^aswith his mighty angels 8 ^atin flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those ^auwho do not know God and on those who ^avdo not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will suffer the punishment of ^aweternal destruction, ^axaway from ^{▼▼Or destruction that comes from} the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 10 ^azwhen he comes on ^bathat day ^bbto be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our ^bctestimony to you ^bdwas believed.

Titus 2:13

Hebrews 9:28

Suffering as a Christian
