Act 20:18-35 | ESV | STEP | And when they came to him , he said to them : You yourselves know how I lived among you the whole time from the first day that I set foot in Asia ,

18 And when they came to him, he said to them:

^a“You yourselves know ^bhow I lived among you the whole time ^cfrom the first day that I set foot in Asia, 19 ^dserving the Lord ^ewith all humility and with ^ftears and with trials that happened to me through ^gthe plots of the Jews; 20 how I ^hdid not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and ⁱteaching you in public and from house to house, 21 ^jtestifying both to Jews and to Greeks of ^krepentance toward God and of ^lfaith in our Lord Jesus Christ. 22 And now, behold, I am going to Jerusalem, constrained ^mby ^{▼▼Or bound in} the Spirit, not knowing what will happen to me there, 23 except that ^othe Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that ^pimprisonment and ^qafflictions await me. 24 But ^rI do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only ^sI may finish my course and ^tthe ministry ^uthat I received from the Lord Jesus, ^vto testify to ^wthe gospel of ^xthe grace of God. 25 And now, behold, ^yI know that none of you among whom I have gone about ^zproclaiming the kingdom will see my face again. 26 Therefore ^aaI testify to you this day that ^abI am innocent of the blood of all, 27 for ^acI did not shrink from declaring to you ^adthe whole counsel of God. 28 ^aePay careful attention to yourselves and to all ^afthe flock, in which ^agthe Holy Spirit has made you ^ahoverseers, ^aito care for ^ajthe church of God, ^{▼▼Some manuscripts of the Lord} which he ^alobtained ^amwith his own blood. ^{▼▼Or with the blood of his Own} 29 I ^aoknow that after my departure ^apfierce wolves will come in among you, ^aqnot sparing the flock; 30 and ^arfrom among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31 Therefore ^asbe alert, remembering that ^atfor three years I did not cease night or day ^auto admonish every one ^avwith tears. 32 And now ^awI commend you to God and to ^axthe word of his grace, which is able to ^aybuild you up and to give you ^azthe inheritance among all those who are sanctified. 33 ^baI coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel. 34 ^bbYou yourselves know that ^bcthese hands ministered to my necessities and ^bdto those who were with me. 35 In all things ^beI have shown you that ^bfby working hard in this way we must ^bghelp the weak and ^bhremember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed ^bito give than to receive.’”
