Romans 6:16-22

16Do you not know that if you present yourselves fto anyone as obedient slaves,
For the contextual rendering of the Greek word doulos, see Preface (twice in this verse and verse 19; also once in verses 17, 20)
you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
17But hthanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the istandard of teaching to which you were committed, 18and, jhaving been set free from sin, khave become slaves of righteousness. 19 lI am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For mjust as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members nas slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.

20 oFor when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 pBut what fruit were you getting at that time from the things qof which you are now ashamed? rFor the end of those things is death. 22But now that you shave been set free from sin and thave become slaves of God, uthe fruit you get leads to sanctification and vits end, eternal life.

Romans 7:23-25

23but I see in my members wanother law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from xthis body of death? 25Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

2 Timothy 2:25-26

25correcting his opponents ywith gentleness. God zmay perhaps grant them repentance aaleading to a knowledge of the truth, 26and they may come to their senses and escape from abthe snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.
