Peter and John Before the Council

1And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and athe captain of the temple and bthe Sadducees came upon them, 2greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming cin Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

Acts 4:6-10

6with dAnnas the high priest and eCaiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly family. 7And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, fBy what power or gby what name did you do this?” 8Then Peter, hfilled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders, 9if we are being examined today iconcerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, 10let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that jby the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, kwhom God raised from the deadby him this man is standing before you well.

Acts 5:28

28saying, l“We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you mintend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”
