1Now in these days awhen the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint by the Hellenists
That is, Greek-speaking Jews
arose against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in cthe daily distribution.
2And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables. 3 dTherefore, brothers,

pick out from among you seven men fof good repute, gfull of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty.

Acts 15:6-7

Lawsuits Against Believers

1When one of you has a grievance against another, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous sinstead of the saints? 2Or do you not know that tthe saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? 3Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life! 4So if you have such cases, uwhy do you lay them before those who have no standing in the church?

2 Corinthians 2:6-7

6For such a one, vthis punishment by the majority is enough, 7so wyou should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.

3 John 9-10

9I have written something to the church, but Diotrephes, who likes to put himself first, does not acknowledge our authority. 10So if I come, I will bring up what he is doing, talking wicked nonsense against us. And not content with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers, and also stops those who want to and puts them out of the church.
