The Stoning of Stephen

54 Now when they heard these things ^athey were enraged, and they ^bground their teeth at him. 55 But he, ^cfull of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw ^dthe glory of God, and Jesus standing ^eat the right hand of God. 56 And he said, “Behold, I see ^fthe heavens opened, and ^gthe Son of Man standing ^hat the right hand of God.” 57 But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together ^{▼▼Or rushed with one mind} at him. 58 Then ^jthey cast him out of the city and ^kstoned him. And ^lthe witnesses laid down their garments ^mat the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And as they were stoning Stephen, ⁿhe called out, “Lord Jesus, ^oreceive my spirit.” 60 And ^pfalling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, ^q“Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, ^rhe fell asleep.
