Saul Ravages the Church

1And aSaul bapproved of his execution.

And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and cthey were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

Acts 8:3

3But dSaul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he edragged off men and women and committed them to prison.

Acts 9:1-2

The Conversion of Saul

1But Saul, fstill gbreathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to hthe high priest 2and asked him for letters ito the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to jthe Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

Acts 9:13-14

13But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, khow much evil he has done to lyour msaints at Jerusalem. 14And here he has authority from nthe chief priests to bind all who ocall on your name.”

Acts 9:21

21And all who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this the man who pmade havoc qin Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?”

26And rwhen he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples. And they were all afraid of him, for they did not believe that he was a disciple.

Acts 22:4-5

4 sI persecuted tthis Way uto the death, binding and delivering to prison both men and women, 5as vthe high priest and wthe whole council of elders can bear me witness. From them I received letters to xthe brothers, and I journeyed toward Damascus to take those also who were there and bring them in bonds to Jerusalem to be punished.

Acts 26:9-11

9 yI myself was convinced that I ought to do many things in opposing the name of zJesus of Nazareth. 10 aaAnd I did so in Jerusalem. I not only locked up many of the saints in prison after receiving authority abfrom the chief priests, but acwhen they were put to death I cast my vote against them. 11And adI punished them often in all the synagogues and tried to make them aeblaspheme, and afin raging fury against them I agpersecuted them even to foreign cities.
