Sexual Immorality Defiles the Church

1It is actually reported that there is fsexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, gfor a man has his father’s wife. 2And hyou are arrogant! Ought you inot rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.

3For though jabsent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing. 4When you are assembled kin the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, 5you are lto deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so mthat his spirit may be saved nin the day of the Lord.

Warning Against Idolatry

1For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters
that our fathers were all under sthe cloud, and all tpassed through the sea,
2and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3and uall ate the same vspiritual food, 4and wall drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ. 5Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased, for xthey were overthrown
Or  were laid low
in the wilderness.

6Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as zthey did. 7 aaDo not be idolaters abas some of them were; as it is written, ac“The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.” 8 adWe must not indulge in sexual immorality aeas some of them did, and aftwenty-three thousand fell in a single day. 9We must not put Christ

to the test, ahas some of them did and aiwere destroyed by serpents,
10nor grumble, ajas some of them did and akwere destroyed by althe Destroyer. 11Now these things happened to them as an example, but amthey were written down for our instruction, anon whom the end of the ages has come. 12Therefore aolet anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15

13For such men are arfalse apostles, asdeceitful workmen, atdisguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as auan angel of light. 15So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as avservants of righteousness. awTheir end will correspond to their deeds.
