Amo 1:3-4 | ESV | STEP | Thus says the Lord : For three transgressions of Damascus , and for four , I will not revoke the punishment , because they have threshed Gilead with threshing sledges of iron .

Amos 1:3-4

3 Thus says the Lord:

^a“For three transgressions of ^bDamascus,
and for four, ^cI will not revoke the punishment, ^{▼▼Hebrew I will not turn it back; also verses 6, 9, 11, 13}
because they have threshed ^eGilead
with threshing sledges of iron.
4 ^fSo I will send a fire upon the house of ^gHazael,
and it shall devour the strongholds of ^hBen-hadad.
