Amos 2:6-7

Judgment on Israel

6Thus says the Lord:

a“For three transgressions of Israel,
and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because bthey sell the righteous for csilver,
and the needy for a pair of sandals
7those who trample the head of the poor dinto the dust of the earth
and eturn aside the way of the afflicted;
fa man and his father go in to the same girl,
so that my holy name is profaned;

Amos 4:1

1Hear this word, gyou cows of Bashan,
who are hon the mountain of Samaria,
iwho oppress the poor, jwho crush the needy,
who say to your husbands, ‘Bring, that we may drink!’

Amos 5:11

11Therefore because you ktrample on
Or  you tax
the poor
and you exact taxes of grain from him,
myou have built houses of hewn stone,
but you shall not dwell in them;
nyou have planted pleasant vineyards,
but you shall not drink their wine.

Amos 8:4-6

4 Hear this, oyou who trample on the needy
and bring the poor of the land to an end,
5saying, “When will pthe new moon be over,
that we may sell grain?
And qthe Sabbath,
that we may offer wheat for sale,
that we may make rthe ephah small and the shekel
An  ephah was about 3/5 bushel or 22 liters; a  shekel was about 2/5 ounce or 11 grams
great
and deal deceitfully with false balances,
6that we may buy the poor for tsilver
and the needy for a pair of sandals
and sell the chaff of the wheat?”

Micah 6:11-12

11Shall I acquit the man uwith wicked scales
and with a bag of deceitful weights?

Hebrew whose
rich men are wfull of violence;
your inhabitants xspeak lies,
and ytheir tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

Habakkuk 3:14

14You pierced with his own arrows the heads of his warriors,
who came like a whirlwind to scatter me,
rejoicing as if to devour the poor in secret.

Zechariah 7:10

10 zdo not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, aaor the poor, and ablet none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”
