Amos 5:10-11

10 ^aThey hate him who reproves ^bin the gate,
and they ^cabhor him who speaks the truth.
11 Therefore because you ^dtrample on ^{▼▼Or you tax} the poor
and you exact taxes of grain from him,
^fyou have built houses of hewn stone,
but you shall not dwell in them;
^gyou have planted pleasant vineyards,
but you shall not drink their wine.

Luke 11:45

45 One of ^hthe lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying these things you insult us also.”

James 1:23-25

23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, ⁱthe law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, ^jhe will be blessed in his doing.
