Amos 5:16-18

16Therefore thus says the Lord, athe God of hosts, the Lord:

“In all the squares bthere shall be wailing,
and in all the streets they shall say, ‘Alas! Alas!’
They shall call the farmers to mourning
and cto wailing those who are skilled in lamentation,
17and in all vineyards there shall be wailing,
for dI will pass through your midst,”

says the Lord.

Let Justice Roll Down

18 Woe to you who desire ethe day of the Lord!
Why would you have the day of the Lord?
fIt is darkness, and not light,

Amos 8:10

10 gI will turn your feasts into mourning
and all your songs into lamentation;
hI will bring sackcloth on every waist
iand baldness on every head;
jI will make it like the mourning for an only son
and the end of it like a bitter day.

Zephaniah 1:10-11

10 “On that day,” declares the Lord,

la wail from mthe Second Quarter,
a loud crash from the hills.
11 nWail, O inhabitants of the Mortar!
For all the traders
Or  all the people of Canaan
are no more;
all who weigh out silver are cut off.

Luke 19:41-44

Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem

41 pAnd when he drew near and saw the city, qhe wept over it, 42saying, rWould that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now sthey are hidden from your eyes. 43For tthe days will come upon you, when your enemies uwill set up a barricade around you and vsurround you and hem you in on every side 44 wand tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And xthey will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know ythe time of your zvisitation.”

The Coming of the Son of Man

25And aathere will be signs in sun and moon aband stars, and on the earth acdistress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, 26people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For adthe powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Luke 23:29-30

29For behold, aethe days are coming when they will say, afBlessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’ 30 agThen they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’
