Amos 5:21-24

21 a“I hate, I despise your feasts,
and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies.
22 bEven though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings,
I will not accept them;
and the peace offerings of your fattened animals,
I will not look upon them.
23Take away from me the noise of your songs;
to cthe melody of your harps I will not listen.
24But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

Micah 6:6-8

What Does the Lord Require?

6 d“With what shall I come before the Lord,
and bow myself before eGod on high?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?
7 fWill the Lord be pleased with
Or  Will the Lord accept
thousands of rams,
with ten thousands of rivers of oil?
hShall I give my firstborn for my transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”
8He has told you, O man, what is good;
and iwhat does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
Or steadfast love

and to kwalk humbly with your God?

Matthew 9:13

13Go and learn lwhat this means: m‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For nI came not to call the righteous, obut sinners.”

Matthew 12:7

7And if you had known pwhat this means, q‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless.

Matthew 23:23

23 rWoe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For syou tithe mint and dill and tcumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: ujustice and mercy and faithfulness. vThese you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.

Hebrews 10:4-10

4For wit is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

5Consequently, xwhen Christ
Greek he
came into the world, he said,

zSacrifices and offerings you have not desired,
but a body have you prepared for me;
6in burnt offerings and sin offerings
you have taken no pleasure.
7Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,
as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”
8When he said above, “You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in aasacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), 9then he added, abBehold, I have come to do your will.” He does away with the first in order to establish the second. 10And by that will acwe have been sanctified through the offering of adthe body of Jesus Christ aeonce for all.
