Amos 9:8-15

8Behold, athe eyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom,
and I will destroy it from the surface of the ground,
bexcept that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob,”

declares the Lord.
9 For behold, I will command,
cand shake the house of Israel among all the nations
as one shakes with a sieve,
but no pebble shall fall to the earth.
10All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword,
who say, dDisaster shall not overtake or meet us.’

The Restoration of Israel

11 “In that day eI will raise up
the booth of David that is fallen
and repair its breaches,
and raise up its ruins
and rebuild it as in the days of old,
12 fthat they may possess the remnant of Edom
and gall the nations who are called by my name,”
Hebrew; Septuagint (compare Acts 15:17)  that the remnant of mankind and all the nations who are called by my name may seek the Lord

declares the Lord who does this.
13 Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,
i“when the plowman shall overtake the reaper
and the treader of grapes him who sows the seed;
jthe mountains shall drip sweet wine,
and all the hills shall flow with it.
14 kI will restore the fortunes of my people Israel,
and lthey shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them;
mthey shall plant vineyards and drink their wine,
and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 nI will plant them on their land,
oand they shall never again be uprooted
out of the land pthat I have given them,”

says the Lord your God.

Micah 5:4-7

4And he shall stand qand shepherd his flock rin the strength of the Lord,
in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.
And they shall dwell secure, for now she shall be great
to the ends of the earth.
5And he shall be ttheir peace.
uWhen the Assyrian comes into our land
and treads in our palaces,
then we will raise against him seven vshepherds
and eight princes of men;
6they shall shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword,
and the land of wNimrod at its entrances;
and he shall deliver us from the Assyrian
xwhen he comes into our land
and treads within our border.

A Remnant Shall Be Delivered

7 Then ythe remnant of Jacob shall be
in the midst of many peoples
like dew from the Lord,
like showers on the grass,
which delay not for a man
nor wait for the children of man.

Micah 7:14-20

14 zShepherd your people aawith your staff,
the flock of your inheritance,
who dwell alone in a forest
abin the midst of aca garden land;
Hebrew  of Carmel

let them graze in Bashan and Gilead
as in the days of old.
15 aeAs in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt,
I will show them
Hebrew him
marvelous things.
16 agThe nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might;
ahthey shall lay their hands on their mouths;
their ears shall be deaf;
17 aithey shall lick the dust like a serpent,
like the crawling things of the earth;
ajthey shall come trembling out of their strongholds;
akthey shall turn in dread to the Lord our God,
and they shall be in fear of you.

God’s Steadfast Love and Compassion

18 alWho is a God like you, ampardoning iniquity
and passing over transgression
anfor the remnant of his inheritance?
aoHe does not retain his anger forever,
because he delights in steadfast love.
19He will apagain have compassion on us;
aqhe will tread our iniquities underfoot.
arYou will cast all our
Hebrew their
sins
into the depths of the sea.
20 atYou will show faithfulness to Jacob
and steadfast love to Abraham,
auas you have sworn to our fathers
from the days of old.

Zephaniah 3:14-20

Israel’s Joy and Restoration

14 avSing aloud, O daughter of Zion;
shout, O Israel!
Rejoice and exult with all your heart,
O daughter of Jerusalem!
15The Lord has taken away the judgments against you;
he has cleared away your enemies.
awThe King of Israel, axthe Lord, is in your midst;
you shall never again fear evil.
16 ayOn that day it shall be said to Jerusalem:
Fear not, O Zion;
azlet not your hands grow weak.
17 baThe Lord your God is in your midst,
bba mighty one who will save;
bche will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.
18I will gather those of you who mourn bdfor the festival,
so that you will no longer suffer reproach.
The meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain

19Behold, at that time bfI will deal
with all your oppressors.
And bgI will save the lame
and gather the outcast,
and I will change bhtheir shame into bipraise
and renown in all the earth.
20 bjAt that time I will bring you in,
at the time when I gather you together;
for I will make you renowned and praised
among all the peoples of the earth,
bkwhen I restore your fortunes
before your eyes,” says the Lord.

Zechariah 9:9-17

The Coming King of Zion

9 blRejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!
bmBehold, bnyour king is coming to you;
righteous and having salvation is he,
bohumble and mounted on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
10 bpI will cut off the chariot from Ephraim
and bqthe war horse from Jerusalem;
and the battle bow shall be cut off,
and brhe shall speak peace to the nations;
bshis rule shall be from sea to sea,
and from btthe River to the ends of the earth.
11As for you also, because of buthe blood of my covenant with you,
bvI will set your prisoners free from bwthe waterless pit.
12Return to your stronghold, O bxprisoners of hope;
today I declare that byI will restore to you double.
13For bzI have bent Judah as my bow;
I have made Ephraim its arrow.
I will stir up your sons, O Zion,
against your sons, caO Greece,
and wield you like a warrior’s sword.

The Lord Will Save His People

14 Then the Lord will appear over them,
and cbhis arrow will go forth like lightning;
ccthe Lord God will sound the trumpet
and will march forth in cdthe whirlwinds ceof the south.
15The Lord of hosts cfwill protect them,
and cgthey shall devour, chand tread down the sling stones,
and cithey shall drink and roar as if drunk with wine,
and be full like a bowl,
drenched cjlike the corners of the altar.
16 On that day the Lord their God will save them,
as ckthe flock of his people;
for cllike the jewels of a crown
they shall shine on his land.
17 cmFor how great is his goodness, and how great his beauty!
cnGrain shall make the young men flourish,
and new wine the young women.

Zechariah 12:5-10

5Then the clans of Judah shall say to themselves, ‘The inhabitants of Jerusalem have strength through the Lord of hosts, their God.’

6 co“On that day I will make the clans of Judah cplike a blazing pot in the midst of wood, like a flaming torch among sheaves. And cqthey shall devour to the right and to the left all the surrounding peoples, while crJerusalem shall again be inhabited in its place, in Jerusalem.

7“And the Lord will give salvation to the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not surpass that of Judah. 8 csOn that day ctthe Lord will protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that cuthe feeblest among them on that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, cvlike the angel of the Lord, going before them. 9 cwAnd on that day cxI will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Him Whom They Have Pierced

10“And cyI will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and czpleas for mercy, so that, dawhen they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, dbthey shall mourn for him, dcas one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.
