Testing of Your Faith

2 lCount it all joy, my brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church; also verses 16, 19
when you meet trials nof various kinds,
3for you know that othe testing of your faith pproduces steadfastness. 4And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be qperfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

James 5:7-8

Patience in Suffering

7Be patient, therefore, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters; also verses 9, 10, 12, 19
until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives sthe early and the late rains.
8You also, be patient. tEstablish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord uis at hand.
