6 Let your speech always ^hbe gracious, ⁱseasoned with salt, ^jso that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

James 3:2-8

2 For ^kwe all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, ^lhe is a perfect man, ^mable also to bridle his whole body. 3 If we put ⁿbits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. 4 Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. 5 So also the tongue is a small member, yet ^oit boasts of great things.

How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! 6 And ^pthe tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, ^qstaining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, ^{▼▼Or wheel of birth} and set on fire by hell. ^{▼▼Greek Gehenna} 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, ^tfull of deadly poison.

2 Peter 2:18

18 For, ^uspeaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely ^vescaping from those who live in error.

Jude 13-16

13 ^wwild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of ^xtheir own shame; ^ywandering stars, ^zfor whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever.

14 It was also about these that Enoch, ^aathe seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, ^ab“Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, 15 ^acto execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have ^adcommitted in such an ungodly way, and of all ^aethe harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” 16 These are grumblers, malcontents, ^affollowing their own sinful desires; ^agthey are loud-mouthed boasters, ^ahshowing favoritism to gain advantage.

Revelation of John 13:5-6

5 And the beast was given ^aia mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for ^ajforty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, ^{▼▼Or tabernacle} that is, those who dwell in heaven.
